What you do is get the salvaging skill, and go to any craft supply merchant.
The merchant there sells Shattered Figurine for 18 copper.
You can then salvage these into Silent Essence which sell for 50 copper.
I know it's not much money, but for low levels on a new server, it's a fairly easy way to get a few gold.
Doing it the fastest I could, I was averaging about 9 silver a minute...which if i'm doing my math correctly translates to about 5.4 gold an hour, or 130 gold a day.
If this is possible to be botted you could make a decent amount overnight while you sleep.
